Saturday 1st May

Marsh Harrier

Wheatears
I just managed to get out for an hour this afternoon between 3:20 - 4:20pm, just before the heavens opened, so I mainly concentrated my efforts around the paddocks, at 3:40pm, the local gull population got a little upset when 2 Marsh Harriers were seen over the garden of rest, I just about got a distant record shot of one of the birds as it drifted off west over the paddocks. Time was going fast but I also managed to record 9 Wheatears including 3 birds happily sitting on a roller by the paddocks, 1 Whitethroat, 2 Swallows, 10 Linnets, 1 Sparrowhawk and 1 Corn Bunting.
